Trust

How Community Groundwork handles trust, privacy, and accountability

How Community Groundwork handles trust, privacy, and accountability

Community Groundwork is being built as professional support infrastructure for the care and support workforce. That means trust is not a side issue — it shapes how we design supervision, coaching, data handling, safety, and decision-making from the beginning.

Community Groundwork is being built as professional support infrastructure for the care and support workforce. That means trust is not a side issue — it shapes how we design supervision, coaching, data handling, safety, and decision-making from the beginning.

We are building small, but in the direction of a platform that protects workers, respects sensitive information, and earns trust before claiming scale.

Why this matters

People working in care, support, and community services often carry responsibility, sensitive information, and high emotional load with too little independent reflective support. People need to know how their information, participation, and concerns will be handled before they engage.

Community Groundwork is intended to be pro-worker, pro-quality, pro-outcomes, and evidence-led. That means being clear about privacy, safeguarding, complaints, conduct, and how decisions are made.

Trust commitments

Safeguarding

We take safety seriously. The platform model includes clear safeguarding expectations, conduct boundaries, escalation pathways, and oversight processes designed for professional support environments.

Privacy

Member data is intended to be handled in line with the Australian Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles. People can request access, update information, and request deletion.

Data sovereignty

Community Groundwork is being designed with Australian data residency in mind, with control, auditability, and sector trust at its core.

Complaints and accountability

People need a clear way to raise concerns, appeal decisions, and seek review when something does not feel right.

Ethics and conduct

The trust framework includes ethics, community conduct, content integrity, and role-based responsibilities.

Human review

Nothing important is meant to run on automation alone. Sensitive decisions and flagged actions receive human review.

Data and privacy

Community Groundwork’s data doctrine is simple: collect only what strengthens member value, service quality, and sector intelligence, store it under Community Groundwork control, and use it to benefit the sector rather than exploit members. Member data should be stored in compliance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, with encryption in transit, encryption at rest, and role-based access controls at the database layer.

Australian Privacy Act and APP-aligned approach. Encrypted data in transit and at rest. Role-based access controls. Clear rights to access, update, and request deletion of personal data. Strong limits on how sensitive information is used.

Safety, conduct, and complaints

Community Groundwork is being built for a workforce that often operates under pressure, complexity, and uneven organisational support. Safety is not only about technical security — it is also about respectful conduct, clear boundaries, and what happens when concerns are raised. The trust model identifies safeguarding, ethics, conduct, complaints, privacy, community conduct, content integrity, and access credentials as visible public commitments supported by real internal processes.

If you raise a concern, the expectation is that it is reviewed through a clear human process rather than disappearing into a black box.

AI and human review

The planned community platform will use AI as a support layer for speed, consistency, and risk flagging, but not as an unchecked decision-maker. AI can recommend, warn, hold, or flag, while a human confirms decisions that materially affect people. Decisions are intended to be logged, auditable, server-side only, and appealable through the complaints process. No raw AI output is shown directly to users and no irreversible action is taken by AI alone.

AI supports review; humans make final calls. Important decisions are logged and auditable. Users can appeal AI-affected decisions. AI safety is not tier-gated.
